About Us
Our family farm is based in the Peak District and here at Highfields Farmhouse we take great pride in producing high quality animals and forage. The farm is made up primarily of cattle and our two flocks of Kerry Hill and Shropshire sheep. We also have an assortment of dogs, chickens, horses etc. All the usual stuff for a country farm really!

Farming in the Peak District can be tough at times especially when battling through wind and rain in the height of summer but the good days make it all worth it. Hopefully some of our galleries give an idea of what we mean - this really is a fabulous part of the world.

We aim to keep it that way too. In so many parts of the world, all we see is intensive agriculture (arable and livestock) and with that comes nothing but bad news for nature. In our corner of the Peak District we are aiming to reverse that trend. Our farm is set up to succeed with non-intensive methods - allowing nature to thrive around our livestock. We have a range of wild flower meadows, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and a number of projects underway to improve the bio-diversity of our farm. Take a look at our "On the Farm" and "Breeds and Species" pages and our social media channels to see how we're doing.

We have also built up a family run agricultural contracting service, aimed at providing the best possible service for you. Our service is tailored to suit each individual customer and with a significant proportion of our business having been built up over the years through word of mouth, it is testament to the fact that we care about the end result for you. If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well as the old saying goes.
